The race route is basically an out-and-back. Starting on the A68 opposite the Abbey, the route goes north along the A68, turns right up past Woodend and the back of Riverside, then east along the A698 towards Kelso. At around 4 miles, there is a small detour off the main road past Crailing church; the route then continues east along the A698 towards Kelso. At around 6 miles, the route turns right towards Eckford then loops back towards the A698 to start the return journey. Runners will travel west along the A698 towards Bonjedward then south along the A68 towards Jedburgh, to finish on the grass by the river opposite Queen Mary's house.

There are four water stations along the route, at approximately 3 miles, 6 miles, 8 miles and 10 miles.

All runners have the option of buying a race t-shirt - high quality technical fabric in specific male and female sizes.

All finishers will receive a commemorative medal.

Race registration is in the town hall from 08:30am. Remember that you will have to collect your race number and timing chip on the day, so please give yourself plenty of time for this. Please bring a note of your race number to help speed up registration. Race numbers will be emailed out to all runners and will be available on the Festival website approximately a week before the event.

Please remember that the A698 from Kelso will be shut from 10:00am

Also please be aware that the public car parks in town fill up well in advance of the race start, and on street parking is limited.

Car parking: Canongate Car Park and Lothian Car Park

There are female, male, and nonbinary changing and showering facilities in the Jed Thistle Pavilion (off Lothian Car Park)

When registering and paying via EntryCentral there will also be the opportunity to make a donation to our chosen charity for 2023.
